ROTARY DELHI GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE Adoption by Rotary of MCD Schools, Health Centers and Orphanages/Social Welfare Homes run by Delhi Government ROTARY ROLE IN GOVERNANCE Clubs to assess Delhi Government schools, orphanages/ welfare homes and health centers. Areas assessed are infrastructure, education, mid day meals and health care Clubs to provide an appraisal feedback to the Institution and Zonal Authorities The initiative leads to improved education, mid day meals and health care facilities. SUCCESS STORY SO FAR 23 Rotary Clubs presently associated with some schools and orphanages. Has resulted in: Better working environment and results. Better infrastructure. Improved accountability. Strengthening the foundation of education of children from less privileged sections HOW CLUB PARTICIPATES? Form a team of 2/3 dedicated Rotarians. Select a suitably located institution. Team will be introduced to institution authorities Team to visit the institution once a fortnight. Team authorized to conduct self assessment of the state of infrastructure, hygiene, education & mid-day meal, health care facilities. Form for self assessment will be provided.   HOW CLUB PARTICIPATES? Periodically Team will meet Zonal Authorities to discuss findings and for monitoring improvements Organize, wherever possible, PTA meetings, painting competitions etc. Schools/ Health Centers can be available after working hours for vocational training/ health care projects of Clubs   SCHOOLS / HEALTH CARE FACILITIES AVAILABLE 100 MCD Schools & 72 Social Welfare Homes / Orphanages available for adoption in 10 Zones of Delhi. Health Care Centers equipped with staff, medicines etc in several slum clusters are available for adoption. Can assist clubs in NCR by organizing similar adoption in their area. NOW WHAT TO DO? Adopt a school, orphanage or medical centre at no cost to the Rotary Club. Help Delhi Government to govern to improve the standard of Education - Mid Day Meals and Health Care And thereby support emphases areas of Rotary: literacy and health & hunger. Pledge support TODAY.
