R.I. DISTRICT 3010

R.I. District 3010 comprising of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the revenue districts of  Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Revari, Sonipat and Mohindergardh in Haryana, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buth Nagar in U. P. came into being on July 1,1984 with 30 clubs as R.I. District 301.It was renumbered 3010 in R.Y. 1991-92.

The first club in this region, the Delhi , was started in 1938 and received its charter on January 18, 1938. By 1970, seven (7) more new clubs had been formed in the region. The 70s saw significant growth, and by July 1,1984, there were thirty nine (39) clubs in the district. At present there are 125 clubs, with about 5000 Rotarians.

From the beginning, the District has been very active in fulfilling the objectives of Rotary, committed to the ideal of community service. Apart from the various activities initiated at the District level have made a significant impact in the community services avenue. Some of the major District projects are.

§         R.I. District 3010 Rotary Eco Foundation

Significant community services initiative undertaken by Clubs in the District are:

§         Rotary Public School at Gurgaon

§         Rotary Viklang Kendra

§         Bindapur Integrated Community Development Project(BICODEP)

Our District pioneered the Pulse Polio Programme in India and has also made substantial contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

Youth represents the future of any community, and in keeping with this conviction, our District has always laid emphasis in including a spirit of service amongst the youth of District 3010. There are over 161 Interact and over 55 Rotaract clubs in our District each active in various community/youth projects.
