District 3010

|
R.I. District 3010 comprising of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the
revenue districts of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Revari, Sonipat and
Mohindergardh in Haryana, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buth Nagar in U. P. came into being
on July 1,1984 with 30 clubs as R.I. District 301.
It was renumbered 3010 in R.Y.
1991-92. The first club in this region, the Delhi , was started in 1938 and
received its charter on January 18, 1938. By 1970, seven (7) more new clubs had
been formed in the region. The 70s saw significant growth, and by July 1,1984,
there were thirty nine (39) clubs in the district. At present there are 114
clubs, with about 4500 Rotarians.

Rtn.
Amit Jain joined rotary in 1979 and took over as youngest President of Rotary
Club of Delhi City in the year 1981-82 in R.I District 310 (Now District 3010)
when the then Vice President of India, Shri M. Hidyatulla was the Chief Guest.
As a President he created a history by forming Rotract and Interact I the same
year and was adjudged as the outstanding President of the year by the then
District Governor Lakshmi Sagar of Ambala.
Apart from this he also bagged
Best Club award and give other a member of Reception Committee of the
International Conference of Goodwill held in Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan. He also
received a merit certificate from the R.I President Stan Meferry in the year
1981-82.
